The University of Florida's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is pleased to announce the 2008 UF Conference on Comics and Graphic Novels: "ImageSexT: Intersections of Sex, Gender, and Sexuality," which will be held in Gainesville, Florida, on March 21-22, 2008. Confirmed guests for this year include:

Phoebe Gloeckner (published by Cleis Press, Fantagraphics, Frog, Ltd., and RE/Search), author of The Diary of A Teenage Girl, A Child's Life and Other Stories, and illustrator of The Good Vibrations Guide to Sex, 3rd edition, The RE/Search Guide to Bodily Fluids, Brenda Love's Encyclopedia of Unusual Sex Practices, and the RE/Search illustrated edition of J.G. Gail Simone (published by DC Comics, Marvel, and Oni Press), writer for Birds of Prey, Welcome to Tranquility, All-New Atom, Wonder Woman, Villains United, Secret Six, Action Comics, The Legion, Killer Princesses, Deadpool, and Gen??.

Sally Cruikshank, author of Quasi at the Quackadero and Make Me Psychic, animator and producer for Sesame Street, animator of Quasi at the Quackadero, Face Like a Frog, Chow Fun, and numerous titles and animation sequences for television and film

All panels and keynote presentations will take place at Emerson Alumni Hall, which is located at 1938 W. University Avenue, directly across from the North End Zone of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, and diagonal from the O'Connell Center. Friday evening's welcome reception will be held at Ustler Hall.

We recommend flying into and out of the Gainesville Regional Airport (http://www.gra-gnv.com/) and staying at the Paramount Plaza (http://www.paramountplaza.com/). We have a small block of rooms reserved for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at the rate of $79 under the name 'UF Comics Conference.' Let us know if those rooms fill up, and we can potentially expand the block.
